A Free & Premier Product Compliance Engine

A Contemporary Product Compliance Engine

Are Your Products Safe?

Are Your Products...

  • Safe?
  • Compliant For Global Regulations?
  • Putting Your Company At Risk?

With constantly changing regulations it is much harder to answer these questions. While not complying is not an option, strategies to embed compliance in the overall Product Lifecycle is critical to avoid huge regulatory penalties, launch delays, recalls, unsatisfied customers, damaged brand value and reputation.
The cost of your product’s environmental compliance is substantial. Average cost per company was around $300k to achieve initial RoHS compliance and around $400k for maintenance. REACH with more directives is significantly higher. The study also indicates an incubation cost increase of around 10-18% per product.

Ozone, A Contemporary Product Compliance Engine, enables eco-design of your products complying to global regulations. It analyzes and reports your product’s regulatory compliance with automated standards-based exchange with the entire supply chain. Ozone is a A Contemporary Product Compliance Engine that addresses adherence to -

Top 7 reasons why your company needs a Product Compliance Engine

Government Regulatory Requirements

01 Government Regulatory Requirements

Companies are targeted for tracking, audit and inspection of product’s regulatory rule adherence. Failure to do so results in penalties and operational disruption with a huge business impact. With an in-place Product Compliance Engine a timely and effective response is possible. The engine would provide a comprehensive audit trail even to the last level supplier in the chain.

Precise Product Composition Visibility

02 Precise Product Composition Visibility

Ability to identify substances and materials of concern and list all the impacted products at a design stage itself is very important. The engine would provide visibility to the component, supplier and alternatives to quickly course correct much ahead of future expensive product lifecycle stages.

Customer Compliance Reporting

03 Customer Compliance Reporting

In the B2B chain, inability to respond to customers requests could mean lower customer retention. The quality and timeliness of the response is critical for customer satisfaction.

Supply Chain Transparency

04 Supply Chain Transparency

Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Conflict Minerals Law) and California’s Supply Chain Transparency Act mandates a transparent supply chain. It allows to assess impact on suppliers when a new restricted substance is introduced.

Productivity Consideration

05 Productivity Consideration

Working through the supply chain to establish and manage compliance is a laborious and frustrating exercise. The Product Compliance Engine automates most of this task with adherence to industry standard exchanges like IPC. Re-assessing your BoM with a changed regulation and perform What-If analysis can save weeks of effort for the components engineer.

Cost Impact

06 Cost Impact

Apart from the internal cost of deploying component engineers and involving 3rd party experts for analysis and audit trail dissemination, cost of business interruptions and penalties of non-compliance can be overwhelming.

Protecting Brand Value and Reputation

07 Protecting Brand Value and Reputation

An accentuated environmental credential presents a positive perception helping to surge ahead of competition.

Conflict Minerals Compliance

The US Dodd Frank Act mandates companies to identify and disclose to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) any sources of 3TG used in their products if they originate in or around the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The 3TG list assessed:

01. Cassiterite (ore for tin): tin is used as solder on circuit boards in every electronic device we use.
02. Columbite-tantalite (coltan, ore for tantalum): tantalum stores electricity and is essential to portable electronics and high-speed processing devices, such as laptops and cell phones.
03. Wolframite (tungsten, wolfram, ore for cobalt): commonly used in tools; enables cell phone vibration.
04. Gold: used in the wiring of electronic devices Or their derivatives and any other mineral, or its derivatives, as determined by the Secretary of State to be financing conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or an adjoining country.

Conflict Minerals Compliance

Ozone helps in the following areas of the conflict minerals reporting process:

01. Discover the presence of 3TG in the product structure and supply chain.
02. Inquiry, collection and verification of Smelters for Reasonable country of origin inquiries (RCOI).
03. Conduct due diligence and audit trail for evidence, Establish and regulate the source of 3TGs from the DRC.
04. Analyze, report and certify conflict minerals status of the product structure and supply chain.

What do you mean by Ozone being extensible for regulations?
  • Ozone comes with pre-defined set of regulations as listed in the sections above. Changes in regulation substance categories and exemptions are configurable. The System UI, calculations for analyzing compliance, reports and dashboards automatically reflect the new regulations or changes in existing regulations. So you are future proof to a great extent on ever-changing regulation.
How can Ozone help in preparing for upcoming new regulations or regulatory changes in existing ones?
  • Compliance Administrators can configure upcoming regulation changes in the live system to find compliance impact on Product structures. The Regulation change analyzer can indicate the changes in substances and thresholds, variations in exemptions. These can be used as a good starting point for preparation, planning and communication internally and to those suppliers whose Supplier Equivalent Parts might fall into the ‘non-compliant’ zone. This can save hours on reactive design, planning, sourcing and avoid potential future changes and penalties that are expensive.
Can I configure Custom Regulations along with standard ones?
  • Ozone provides a flexible platform to define your own regulation definition that could be completely new or variations to the existing regulations. Please refer to the Regulation Management sections in the user guides / video guides for more details.
What is the frequency of Regulation updates on Ozone?
  • We strive to keep our definitions in-sync with the regulatory changes ASAP. Given the flexibility of Ozone, it is usually around a couple of weeks (much faster than other solutions in the market).
The typical data set needed for Ozone is available in multiple systems in our organization, how do you implement Ozone in such a scenario?
  • Ozone itself is a complete compliance system for resident data. Depending on your master data strategy, Mateos® integrator can be used to fetch/transmit data from/to external systems to evaluate and report compliance. On the other hand, Crius can enable in bringing up Ozone screens or compliance values in your native host systems.
What are the regulations addressed in Ozone?
  • Please refer to section for regulations available and roadmap. Please get in touch with Crius for any compliance needs that is currently unavailable.
Do you provide product certification for compliance?
  • No, Ozone provides the compliance indices of your product structures for different regulations and exhaustive compliance reports and analytics. However, we currently are not authorized to issue product compliance certificates based on Ozone.
Can we use the Ozone Platform to perform a custom analysis of compliance on our own?
  • Ozone is customizable and extendable. Customers can build extensions to the system without changing the core functionality.
How do I know my system implementations are in safe hands?
  • Ozone is powered by technologies that millions of professionals use as described in Powered-By section. These products popular with our customers and secure without any restrictions for your needs.
